Modified speaker

Here's a query for the gang.  I recently came into possession of a Heath
HS-1661 speaker that has an added SS device mounted in the cabinet. It
has a small printed circuit board marked "Bencher" and a serial number
5800410.  There is a six position switch, a variable pot and a 1/4" phone
jack installed along one edge of the front panel. There are four linear
devices on the board: LM 3448N,3362N, 380N, and MM5666BN  It appears to
be an audio processor or filter?? Any knowledge of this baby?  Fred W7PRV
