What are the differences between the HW-12 and the HW-12A?

Hello.  I am looking at aquiring a HW-12 or 12A, 32 or 32A.  What are the
differences other than
moving the mike connector to the front and cosmetic changes?  Any real
circuitry changes?
 Is one better than the other as far as operation goes?  Any weak points?
