I have done my share of sniping too - bidding at the last 10 seconds of the auction. This
technique usually works. But only if your bid is sufficently large to outbid the maximium bid
of the other bidders.

The problem with a some bidders is that their maximum bid is so huge - say US$1000 or even
US$2,000 - that no matter what the sniper bids, the sniper will still be outbid. Unless the
sniper also bids US$2,000 for an item that normally would sell on ebay for say just US$300!
Hey, why not just bid US$1,000,000! Then ALL possibilities are covered! Then you will be
guaranteed to get EVERY item up for bid.

It is like David versus Goliath. The average bidder or little guy just can't compete, and is
wasting their time.

The bidder with the deeper pockets wins. I understand the auction process. Domination of a
particular class of items by one bidder is legal, and allowed in an auction. What happens
though, is that the entire process becomes an exercise in futility for all other bidders
because thay are either not wealthy enough or stupid enough to bid outlandish amounts of
money. But that's OK. I keep my money for investing, and know the satisfaction that these
Goliath's got taken to the cleaners! Suckers! Huh, huh, huh. Harvey.
