Ed,

That's a coincidence!  I was just in the garage working on a Heath H-27 dual 8" floppy
drive. It has a bad voltage regulator which was being driven too hot by the power
source.  Pass transistors are not cheap nowadays and  I was just saying that I wish I
could drop back a few volts on the input to place it back into specs. I'd be interested
in the details of this reducer!
