Power for rigs

Isolation transformers in themselves probably over no help. Some isolation
transformers are designed to eliminate high frequency feedthrough. This is a
help in some noise situations, such as when large SCR type motor drives are
on the same distribution line.

What to install depends on what problem you are trying to solve / prevent. I
had a problem years ago with a very sensitive (and expensive) piece of
scientific equipment. The solution was to use what was called at the time a
full feedthrough UPS. This UPS is always processing the power and generating
a clean sinewave that is tightly requlated. It does this by converting the
incoming AC to DC and putting this Dc into an inverter and also the battery
is across the inverter input so that as soon as the AC disappears the battery
takes over (zero switchiung time from AC to DC operation).

my two cents
