Hi,
Was recently given the above mentioned receiver. I was going to fix it
up and let one of my kids use it in their room. Took the cover off. WOW.
What a mess. Parts missing off all the boards. Different parts kludged
in to the now empty holes and jumpered with buss wire. The stereo
decoder is nearly empty of parts. Lots of electrolytics shoved in and
wired everywhere. Transformers on the IF board obviously not original,
but "made" to fit. Insulation burned everywhere. The saddest sight I've
seen in years. A total loss.
The case is ok. Power and audio transformers seem ok. None of the TO-3
transistors have markings, no telling what's there. If you have an
AR-13A that you need "that one part" to get it going, let me know.
That's about all this is good for.
Maybe in death it can help bring another back to life.....
