In New Zealand, up until a few years ago, there was a car assembly business.
Most major manufacturers had a plant. The kits for the cars cost more to
import than complete cars!
All gone now, along with subsidiary businesses derived from that. A lot of
Kiwis now drive cars bought used from Japan, some drive vans still with
Japanese signs on the sides.
