Neil,

I don't know as the car assembly business is really a good analog to the
electronics jut industry.  Kits for cars have always been available.
They are very popular here in America too, if you can afford a Cobra
replica!

But car kits also have other issues too.  Cars require licenses and
insurance.  The licensing process require inspection to be sure it is
safe to use on the road.  Insurance is still another matter.  Only
specialty insurance companies will touch most kit cars!  Very expensive
and you're never sure you can get it licensed.

Never had that problem with an electronics kit!
