SB-104A VFO/Readout offset

Picked up sb-104a and first thing I noticed was that
the frequency readout was off. Adjusting the timebase
trimmer will only pull it to within about 3.5kc's.
Then I noticed that the readout changes when switching
from USB to LSB; seems these should be the same from
what I see in the manual on vfo adjustments. Funny
thing is I can widen the offset between usb/lsb, but
only reduce it to about the same 3.5kc.

My first day with the radio, so hoping someone who is
familiar with the 104A can shed some light...
