Bob is correct, this is very common cable. In times gone by it was
used on ArcNet LANs and is the standard cable for IBM 3270
terminals. That is why it is so common. The 3270 terminals have
been replaced for the most part by PCs now and almost everyone
is installing CAT5 cable instead of coax. If you work at a company
that has an IBM mainframe computer or know someone how does,
you can probably get all you want for free.
If you don't have a local source, I will re-post my standing offer.
30+ feet of new Belden RG-62 by priority mail for $5. Most of
the five bucks is for the postage because I am lazy and like
to use the nice priority mail boxes from the PO. I have a BIG
roll and will not run out in the foreseeable future. You don't need
to ask if I have any left. Payment can be cash or check
(no need to spend extra for a money order on my account).
Please send me a legible address or even better, email me
first and I will have the box all addressed and ready to go.
Actually with the mail being what it is these days, it would be
a good idea to let me know that you have send the money
so I will make sure you get your coax no matter what.
