Hi Mark,
Changing from a 5 mfd electrolytic to a .68 mfd tantalum is not a fluke.
Heath engineers made this change in order to increase the ALC attack time,
and to also limit the possibility of "flat-topping".
If you don't have a .68, you can also substitute a 1mfd and get about the
same result. Only your scope will notice the difference.  :)
