Weather sealant for pc boards

there's two ways to protect a board.

1. a conformal coating

2 potting

a conformal coating will protect against moisture and fungus and other
critters including insects. conformal coating will not waterproof board. it
will protect a pc board from the elements for a short time. dew,
condensation and some spray. but not waterproof it

the stuff I used for the charge controller is made by chemtronics. it's KON
FORM AR. An acrylic resin. it' has a uv tracer so you can see the coverage
when applied to the board

if you want to waterproof, then you must pot the pc board. I use insulcast
products. it's a two part epoxy that great.
