11/10 Meters

I really don't want to prolong this thing but in all the
posts, I didn't see mention of a FCC ruling.  About 2 years
ago, I was bidding on a Kris 600 watt amplifier.  I worked
for Kris back in 1970 and for that reason wanted it for
"conversion" to 6 meters.  While it is listed for 6 and 10
meters, they were only checked on 11.  The seller pulled the
auction off, stating he didn't want to do anything illegal.
I pleaded my case and he held firm.  I then wrote to the FCC
and received a response.  They stated that equipment from
that time, pre-10 mtr ban, were legal to be to be owned,
modified and operated by legally licensed amateur
operators.  I forwarded the email to the seller and I now
own the Kris amplifier, which will someday be put on 6.
This was an actual FCC response.  Tnx and I promise to put
