a new virus (fwd)

Please forgive the off topic post....
I usually don't hop into the anti virus noise, but I will make an
exception here... I do use some Windows based systems. I also use
a number of Linux machines, and avoid Outlook like the plague. It takes
me 3 weeks to restore a windows box from a crash or reloading (that is
given the typical oops.... gotta patch the backups again... stuff).
I am having a slack day if I get 2 viruses a day (along with 200 - 400
messages in the mail box). Today I deleted almost 40 instances of viruses
in one mail folder. The viruses typically don't bother the linux box
at all, other than waste time, space and bandwidth. Besides the
traditional virus problems, I see lots of problems with worms trying to
infect my machines (last time I checked for a 2 month period it was
2 million + attempts by an MSTD on one server.
I find the Windows boxes take about 10 times the amount of work to keep
them running as a Linux or Unix box. If you have run Windows I would sure
put some anti virus software on the machine and keep it updated. I would
also put it behind a real firewall (not a firewall program running on
the windows box).

That said... I have not seen my SB220 crash due to a virus (Had to do
something to pull this back on topic :-) ).
