Perhaps we shouldn't be so hard on the weaknesses of our humanity.
After all, God himself was doing some serious thinking about doing evil
to his people.
Didn't think God could do evil?  Hmmmmmm.  Check out Exodus 32:14, which
says, "And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his
people."
Now I'm guilty of contributing to the off-topic mania that seems to be
sweeping various reflectors.  If you wish to reply, please do so
off-list.
