HW-101 LSB problem

I have an HW-101 that has a problem on lower sideband. I have replaced
all the tubes except the output tubes. The problem is that I can hear
signals and can almost tube them in, but they sound sort of warbley(if
that is a word). Anyhow it almost sounds like you are trying to tune on
an am readio station while you are in SSB mode. Has anyone ran across
this problem it is making my hair more gray.
