6m converter

Unless the converter has been modified, it converts 50
- 52 MHz to the 28 - 30 MHz 10 meter ranges.

You run the output of the converter to the #2
converter input on the receiver and, of course, the 6
meter antenna into the input.

I have both the 6 and 2 meter converters on my SB-301.
 They are about "average" in terms of sensitivity
(definitely will receive anything that is "out of the
noise" in suburban situations).

I don't know why Heath used the #1 position for 2
meters and the #2 for 6 meters.  If it were me, I'd
have gone the other way!
