GC-1107 clock question

Just found a GC-1107 at a thrift store and it works
great but just have one question about the alarm
circuit.  When it sounds, mine is a steady tone.
Sonmehow, I was thinking that they used to beep until
they are turn off.  Perhaps, I am confused with an old
GC-1105 or GC-1097 that I used to own.
