Old Filter Caps

A fellow in my hi school electronics class (won't mention any names :-)
took one of those electrolytics with the orange cardboard case and bent
the wire leads down the sides where they would be insulated by the
cardboard.

Then he charged it up to about 250 volts with a lab supply, then
carefully picked it up without touching the leads, and headed over to
the cafeteria.

He would then spot an unsuspecting acquaintance and casually "toss" the
capacitor to him saying "look at what I found".

The catcher would contact both leads in catching it, get a big shock and
hilarity would ensue.

Only problem the trick only worked a couple of times, as word got around
pretty fast.
