I need some help with this "project" I have an SB-110a and the
receiver is great, but I am having problems with the transmitter
section. I can get only milliwatts out from the thing. New driver
tube and 2 brand new 6146 finals but still nothing. I have gone
through the full tune up procedure, as stated in the manual several
times,all with the same result.
I know I at least get some signal out because I can transmit into a
dummy load and easily hear the signal on a second receiver located 30
yards away. And I know the LMO works as well.
I fear that the bandpass transformers located ahead of the driver tube
have been turned too far out of synch and need to be "homed" so the
thing can be properly tuned. Turning the final tune control, the
preselector and the load control do have some effect but with such
nominal power output it's hard to judge exactly how much effect.
In every other way the rig is great. I use an HP-23a as power supply.
So, any suggections would be appreciated. This is a great rig and I
really want the thing up and running.
Thanks,
Dave, W8QW
