Sams Tube Substituion Handbook says replacements for
the 6JH6 are: 6BZ6, 6HQ6, and 6GM6, etc. These are all
SemiRemote-Cutoff Pentodes with umhos ranging from
about 8000 to 13000. RCA Tube Manual RC-24 and later
has the 6JH6 listed (maybe earlier manuals also).
The LMO in a SB-101 uses a 6CB6 which the TSH shows
replacements of 6AW6, 6DC6, 6DK6, 6DE6, and 6HS6, etc.
These are all Sharp-Cutoff Pentodes with umhos ranging
from about 5000 to 9800.
Many older LMOs also used the 6AU6 which is a Sharp-
Cutoff Pentode with a umho of roughly 5000.
Looks like someone did some experimenting. There are
always other, more common (and cheaper), tubes out there
to replace the original one ......like trying the 6EW6 or 6GM6
for the difficult to locate 6HS6.
