resoldering circuit boards

I bought a used photo analyser which was about 30+ years old. I almost
immediately spotted an unsoldered PC connection!
I own an RCA TV (never buy RCA) which apparently has the nightmare rivet
system. I have to whack it regularly to keep it running, as to repair it
will require some very severe dismantling of solder joints.
Regards,
Neil
