Gary,
        YES,.....it's coming back to this old grey matter. There was a mod to
these mics to pick up the 9V from the radio, thereby eliminating the
need for the battery.  This mic has a small board with a few componets,
including an 8 pin chip, diode, resistor, etc.

I now recall the pain of having that 9V battery go south on ya in the
middle of a QSO.  So the mod was developed...wonder if anybody on the
list recalls the mod, and where one might pick up the 9V.
With all the componets on this "mod board" I suspect there may be
voltage regulation, Zener etc on this little board.....there are lots of
places to pickup the supply voltage in the 2036A......
