As I look over the schematic for the HW-2036A, I can't
find anyplace where you can pick up 9 volts.  I have a
little schematic using a LM-340-5 regulator which can
be used to take the 12-13.7 v from the transceiver and
give you 9 v.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the 9 v is used
for the encoder pad, but not for the mic output
itself.
