Matched Finals?

It has been my experience in r.f. applications that
they really don't have much, if any, effect on
performance, especially when they are run in
"parallel". When used in push-pull, especially audio
applications, they can make a difference. But, the
vast majority of people can't hear any diffrerence!

This may be a bit basic but do matched finals (tubes
such as 6146s) make a big difference in performance or
is matching more critical for push-pull amps in audio applications?
