HW-8 is Microphonic and need schematic.

All DC receivers can be microphonic to some extent because they get all
of their gain at audio frequencies.  The exception are the DC superhet
type radios.

I don't remember the HW8 as being especially microphonic.  I do remember
the HW7 as being very bad in this respect.

The microphonics can be cured if you have enough time!  Look for
anything that is mounted insecurely, or mounted by the leads.  These
tend to vibrate at every touch.  The vibrations can be amplified.
