Apologies to list moderator.  I just sent this question out
my other email server.  I shouldn't have done this!

Hi list.

The vintage test equipment- Heath, Tektronix scopes,
etc,  used BNC connectors (silver-plated?) for the
inputs.

What is a safe way to clean-off years of oxidation
without leaving an undesirable coating?
What will clean the scope graticule without the
lines coming off?
