Kit question....

Funny you should ask as I just happened to have the 1967 and 1969 Heathkit
catalogs right in front of me! In the '67 catalog is a full page showing 3
guitar kits. One is double cutaway with 3 pickups for $219.95, a mid-level
model with single cutaway and 2 pickups at $119.95 and a solid body with 2
pickups for $99.95. All were made by Harmony which was what we'd call an OEM
today. They made instruments for whoever wanted to pay the price as long as
there was a minimum order. The '69 catalog shows only the solid body at
$60.00. This catalog also has a Vox Jaguar organ and a really nice looking
amp/speaker combo that is reminiscent of the Vox Berkely: an amp head
resting on a large speaker cabinet. Why was I looking at those catalogs?
They have nice color product descriptions of the HW-16 CW transceiver, an
example of which I recently acquired.

Subject: Kit question....

Does anyone know if Heath ever offered an
electric guitar kit? I know they had amps, fuzz boxes,
and keyboards, and organs but I can almost swear they
offered a guitar kit called the "Melody maker" or Harmony
or something like that.

 Am I hallucinating ?
