Also is step voltage danger; current thru ground from strike has voltage
drop, typical voltage between feet striding away /to strike can be several
thousand volts.  Buried radials in yard, part of tower ground, and covering
first foot or so of ground lead to tower ground rods/ring will reduce this a
great deal. The extra resistance on way to surface dissipates current.
