Grounding

Greetings:

Well here is another twist to it all. I refer to it as a resonate ground.
I use a 210 foot long wire through a SA-2060A. I have the shack on the
second floor and grounded everything to the cold water pipe (in bathroom)
about 3 feet from the op table. I also had sunk 2 ground rods, and
hooking to the outside cold water tap plus ran #8 wire from the shack to
them. I was getting bit all the time, turning on computer programs by
them selfs, turning off and on the sprinkler systems, etc. I put a MFJ
artificial ground in line and burned it up (SB-200). Still no luck.

The problem was (as with a dipole) the counter poise being resonate, in
this case the ground. I looked at my outside ground and thought that
there is maybe "to much #8 wire". I figured that the total length of the
#8 wire was an even multiple on all bands. I shorten up the #8 wire by 15
inches and all my problems vanished.
