TV Cabling / CAT 5

If it's economically feasible, the best way is to wire all the cable
runs back to a common point. You might also want to run some phone
cable while you're at it - you can use it for remote control, audio
or whatever.

If you must use splitters, there are two kinds, the ones you get from
any electronics store, and the pro ones that are a type of tapoff. If
you chain the regular ones together you quickly run out of signal.
The pro ones tap off a small amount of signal to each room, and can
be run over many, many outlets, as in a motel say.
