Amps, parts etc

Greetings from the soon to be frozen again north.

I have a number of questions etc. so I thought that one
message would be better than a bunch.

1. The cw level/mic level control on my SB-401 is hooped.
The stops are gone and the cw level part of the pot no
longer works. I have jury rigged another pot here so I can
control cw level but need a working part. It is Heath part
Number 68-424, described as: 2 position switch with 10K/1
megohm control. Does anyone have one I could purchase or
know of where to get such a thing?

2. I have hooked my new to me Ameritron AL-811 amp up to the
SB401 and it works great except the ALC control from the amp
doesn't really do any controlling. I can manually control
the drive/grid current etc. but my understanding of this
control was that it should do the job for me. No biggie,
just curious.

3. I have a brand new, NOT NOS, FP style (twist mount) can
style cap. I purchased it from Antique Electronic Supply and
it didn't fit where I wanted it to go. Manufactured by
Mallory, it has never seen solder. Ratings are:

40mfd @ 500vdc
20mfd@ 500vdc
20mfd@ 500vdc
20mfd@ 500vdc

I paid $29.95US plus shipping. I will sell it for $22.00US
including shipping. Photo's available for the asking.

3. This is a off topic but I couldn't get any help on the
Kenwood listserver. I want to use the AL-811 amp with my
TS-520 as well as my Heath rigs. I purchased the hookup
kit/relay buffer ARB-702K from Ameritron, but it is has a 7
pin DIN plug for the ALC and relay lines from the 520 to the
box. Of course the 520 has no such jack and I assume you
have to use the REMOTE socket on the back but have no idea
of the pinouts. I have had this rig since new but this is
the first amp I have owned. Does anyone have experience
using amps with the TS-520 and can give me some tips? The
manual has long since vanished.

Thanks for the time and bandwidth.
