IM-25 Mercury Battery

Greg,
We always modified our bench meters by removing the batteries and replacing
them with a cheap-and-dirty power supply by: rectifying and filtering the
filament voltage, passing the voltage through a low value resistor, and then
creating a 1.2v reference source by using two silicon diodes in series to
ground. (effectively a 1.2 volt reference).
