Heathkit Bama download frustrations..why?

I wish *none* of the stuff on BAMA was in the DjVu format.

As I told the owner of the BAMA site some time ago, I discovered that DjVu
has a nasty habit of sometimes substituting letters; an 'e' will become an
'a', a 'p' will become a 'q' and so on. My guess is that DjVu reuses images
of individual letters to get its high compression ratios -- the trouble is,
it sometimes guesses wrong about which image to use.

Such errors would be OK for novels and other items where the human being
doing the reading can recognize the obvious error. However, on schematics
and technical documentation, I think such errors are just too risky --
personally, I'll never use the DjVu format because of this problem.
