If the 6146W have code dates after 1964 they should be
the equivalent of the 6146B. Before that date, they
should be either 6146 or 6146A. The differences
between a matched pair and a non-matched pair when
used in r.f. is very minimal if it can be detected at
all. When used in audio, there are people who say
that they can hear the difference between a matched
pair and a non-matched pair of tubes. However, about
99 percent of the people can't tell the difference!
Take a look at the article on the 6146 that was
published in Electric Radio a couple of years ago for
more information on this tube. You can find it on
either of my websites:

Can I substitute a pair of 6146B's with a pair of
6146W's? How closely matched must a pair be to
perform properly in push-pull operation?
