Aaack! I messed up the DX-100 audio!

The lower voltage on the screen of the 6AU6 VFO tube
doesn't have much of an effect on the output of the
stage.  You can do the same thing with the VF-1 which
is exactly the same circuit.  It does sometimes, but
not always, help with the stability.

A great number of DX-100 and DX-100B transmitters do
"chirp".  That is why Heath came out with the 4 page
bulletin to "fix" the problem.  The modification
bulletin also adds a spotting switch to the front
panel which allows the VFO to be turned on without
throwing the plate switch or working the key.  The
"fix" actually turns on the VFO whenever the plate
switch is thrown and adds some shaping to the keying.

Unfortunately, this doesn't cure the chirp in all of
the DX-100 / DX-100B transmitters.  However, it
definitely does help.
