SB-221 output?

Hello to the group.  Finally got a SB-221 back together (replaced some
parts). I wired it for 110v and get aroun 700 watts ouput on 20 and 40
will on the tune/cw position and about 950 watts output on 20 and 40
while on SSB.  This output is read on Bird 43.
Is this a good output for the 221?  I am driving it with a FT1000D @ 100
watts.  I also am keying the amp directly with no relay yet (or harbach
keying mod). I understant this is hard on some tranceivers.  Is it bad
for the 1000D?
