DX-100 Cleaning

Just received a nice DX-100 (with "A" mods, and in a "B" chassis) from an
eBay transaction. Nice on the outside. The shipper, Jeffry Wolosek (eBay ID
= jeffwol), did a really poor job of packing, had to be prodded to actually
ship it (kept telling me to "chill"), and took over 3 weeks after the close
of the auction to do it. After telling me the delay was so he could do a
good packing job, it arrived with 3 broken tubes (5V4, 5R4GY and one of the
6146's) and two others out of their sockets. Tubes won't be too much of a
problem to replace, but the chassis also needs cleaning. Any recommendations
on methods of cleaning 40 years of grime off of a copper chassis? Goo-gone
helps a little, but not enough.
