Hello A,,,
I recently put my HW101 back on the air. At first, it worked great!
However...
On the previous weekend while tuning up on 20 meter CW, I noticed that the
tune-up process
(adjusting the final and loading controls to set the meter to 40 [250 ma],
etc) seemed a little
erratic and unstable. However, I was able to get the correct meter reading.
Made several contacts
with good RST reports. Based on the erratic behavior, I checked the
pulleys, dial cords, belts, etc.,
thinking something may have worked loose. However, all was OK. This
weekend, I could not re-tune the
rig to the desired meter reading of 40. Could only get the meter to read 0
(the "b" in decibel on the meter)
No contacts of course. Also noticed that the reading on an FSM meter was
less than half of that of my
EICO 720 90 watt rig.
Any ideas of what is wrong? Did I possibly blow one of the 6146's?
Noel
