Wrong kind of whip. It is ready to go as is (cut off an inch maybe) on 10. the conversion article was to modifyn the helical wound short glass whips 3 and 4 and 6 ft long to 10, 15 and maybe 17 meters. These are just a wire (straight) inside the glass. You can trim top a bit for ten, a lot for 6 FM, but you cant go down. Still a good deal; take 2 and make a 10 meter dipole using mobile CB mtg hardware at RS (one goes to coax con. /stud, other you drill/tap hole in bracket to connect to shield, and voila! a dipole with only a center supprt reqd.
