Question : Heathkit Signal generators - White panels and black case

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A friend called today with a question about the color's used on
Heathkits.  He just acquired a Heathkit  generator (an SG-72) which has
a white panel and a black case which does not seem to the standard Heath
colors. He would like some idea of when that might have been built,
factory built or kit, etc.  All info greatly appreciated!
