No - the HW-16 is a CW 80-40 & 15 meter radio.  It is not actually a
transceiver, because the components are actually separate - it is more like
a separate rx and tx in one box, with automatice TR switching.  In fact, the
vfo in the radio only works for rx, as you point out.

I have had a long interest in hw-16s since my novice days in 1970 (I think
they are great) - I am not aware, nor can I imagine how, a 6 mtr transverter
could possibly function.  Tom W6EIJ
