HR-1680 veriner drive cleaning--help!!

I know it has been on this group numerous times  but I would like to know the proper procedure for cleaning and redoing the main tuning veriner drive on my Hr-1680.  Mine is working very hard and I assume internal grease is turned to a solid mass.  Thanks in advance  73  Ted N8GPQ
