Focusing diodes and scopes

   Hello all, Please, excuse the off topic inquiry. Are focusing
diodes used in scopes at all, or did they in the past? Maybe in
some HP or Tek high-end scopes? If so, does anyone have data
on any of them or suggestion where to look?
