Hi Gerry,
You're right---the covers simply snap on (and OFF!)...
A good way to clean the relat contacts is to get a thin strip of cardboard
(similar in thickness to, say, a paper match), & to soak this in isopropyl
rubbing alcohol. Place this soaked strip between the contacts, & rub back &
forth several times.
Check for any black deposits on the strip, & repeat if necessary.
