Variable caps

Hi Fred et al,

After the "...lemon-juice-&-water" boil & clean method on my air variables
here, you can imagine how stiff they get---some will barely even turn at
all...

I ALWAYS apply a bit of ordinary CASTOR OIL on the bearings/shaft once
dry---works like an absolute charm, no problems, & lasts for years.

Just a drop or two will do---my "applicator" consists of a small screw
driver which has been dipped into the bottle: I "brush" the oiled tip on the
desired surface & work the shaft back & forth a couple of times.
