Chinese Tube Sockets

I sure can.

The sockets I have received as test units from venders, have been real junk.
I have even tested some teflon sockets and still have problems.

Most of the ceramic units test units were barely passable on physical
inspection. I did have a few that looked ok, but I really expect more from
the communist chinese, they have been making ceramic for years.

One problem has been lots of pin play in the socket, they move a lot. You do
not get a secure feel when installing a tube in the socket. Some have had a
problem holding the tube in the socket after a few installations.

The Real Major Problem is the surface area, very small in some of the high
power tube sockets. Lack of surface area and spring tension. The octal pins
are not tight and do not totally covered the tube pin.
The spring tension on the tube pins area have been a major problem on the
octals and even most of the 7 & 9 pin units.

Some of the cheep, old, flat mount bakelite sockets were better built.

Defiantly not like the quality the was available years ago the were
manufactured in the U.S.A.
