I have a SB401/303 that I built about 1971 and have used for 30 years, on
and off. I think I blew the power transformer out of the 401, and have
another on the way. Were there different transformers used at different
times? Mine is part #54-198, as it shows in the manual. It has 2 primary
windings, with instructions to wire in parallel or series for 110 or 220
volt operation. I got a look at another 401, which has transformer part
#54-143, and only one primary winding. Are these interchangeable, assuming
110 volt operation? On the 143, there appears to be 2 black leads as
primary leads, and the secondary leads seem to be the same as the 198.
Does anyone have info on this? Or, a 401 manual showing the 143
transformer, who might look at the diagram and let me know the connections.
Thanks
Ron K2RP
