Hi Dave -
It's hard to buy one resistor these days... :-)
Since 500K is not a standard value, it prevents selecting one from a
bin of 5% film resistors. Also, 1W resistors over 100k are getting
very hard to find.
Best bet is probably a couple of 1M 1/2W carbon or metal film. If you
have a local distributor that would let you select from his 5% bin or
just buy a couple of 1%.
I suspect the SB-401 meter isn't all that accurate anyway. You could
probably stick a 510K 1 W 5% in there and never know the difference!!
