Working around high voltages?

And I would have to add, make sure to unplug the power cord while
working on it.

Working in and around high voltage is not to be taken lightly and the
comments offered so far have been very good.

1) ALWAYS think before doing. Oops is not going to help.
2) The electricians' motto: One flash and you're ash.
3) Keep one hand in your pocket. Hand to hand current is a very bad
thing.
4) Don't trust rubber gloves, rubber shoes, rubber mats.
